Z\u00e1rove\u0148 m\u011bly o 25 % ni\u017e\u0161\u00ed hladinu lipoprotein\u016f o n\u00edzk\u00e9 hustot\u011b (LDL - nezdrav\u00e9 formy cholesterolu) a ni\u017e\u0161\u00ed hladinu t\u011blesn\u00e9ho tuku. Jedna z autorek studie, doktorka Ma\u0142gorzata Desmond, prohl\u00e1sila: \u201eZpo\u010d\u00e1tku jsme byli p\u0159ekvapeni \u0161patn\u00fdm kardiovaskul\u00e1rn\u00edm zdravotn\u00edm profilem vegetari\u00e1nsk\u00fdch d\u011bt\u00ed, ale \u00fadaje o jejich strav\u011b uk\u00e1zaly, \u017ee jed\u00ed sp\u00ed\u0161e zpracovan\u00fd typ rostlinn\u00e9 stravy s men\u0161\u00edm mno\u017estv\u00edm vl\u00e1kniny a cukr\u016f ve srovn\u00e1n\u00ed s vegany. Zji\u0161\u0165ujeme tedy, \u017ee samotn\u00e1 rostlinn\u00e1 strava nen\u00ed z\u00e1rukou zdrav\u00ed, st\u00e1le je t\u0159eba vyb\u00edrat zdrav\u00e9 potraviny.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>T\u00fdm d\u00e1le zd\u016fraznil, \u017ee p\u0159i rostlinn\u00e9 strav\u011b je nutn\u00e9 dopl\u0148ovat vitamin B12 a vitamin D a \u017ee je t\u0159eba ud\u011blat v\u00edce pro zv\u00fd\u0161en\u00ed pov\u011bdom\u00ed o t\u00e9to problematice v rodin\u00e1ch vegetari\u00e1nsk\u00fdch a vegansk\u00fdch d\u011bt\u00ed. \u201eZjistili jsme, \u017ee vegansk\u00e9 d\u011bti maj\u00ed ni\u017e\u0161\u00ed kostn\u00ed hmotu i po zohledn\u011bn\u00ed jejich men\u0161\u00edho t\u011bla a velikosti kost\u00ed. To znamen\u00e1, \u017ee do obdob\u00ed dosp\u00edv\u00e1n\u00ed, kdy je pot\u0159eba \u017eivin specifick\u00fdch pro kosti vy\u0161\u0161\u00ed, mohou vstupovat s ji\u017e zji\u0161t\u011bn\u00fdm deficitem kostn\u00ed hmoty.
